Arthur Hull is the single greatest source of information
about the art and the science of drum circle facilitation. Arthur's
company, Village Music Circles, offers numerous facilitator's
trainings annually, and has several of the most informative
books and videos available. He is the world's foremost authority
on drum circle facilitation, and is delightfully comedic and
engaging. Please see our page "Cameron's Teachers" for more
about Arthur. We strongly recommend Arthur’s book/CD "Drum Circle Spirit." His video,
"Drum Circle Facilitation," was filmed during one the VMC Hawaii Facilitator’s Playshops,
and showcases some fantastic techniques and sequences, making it a great learning tool
for any facilitator-in-training. His latest book, "Drum Circle Facilitation," is the
best one yet. We especially appreciate the new notation system, and all of the magical
stories that accompany each of the concepts. (Yes, the Dedication page certainly is
an enormous honor.) The only experience better than the books and videos are the VMC
Facilitator Playshops, scheduled nationwide and abroad, annually. Please visit:

Abdoulaye Diakite, of the Bamana people in Senegal, is
one of the precious few players in the world who truly deserves
the title "Master Drummer." His djembe playing is divine. Please
see our page titled "Cameron's Teachers" for more information
about Abdoulaye. His West African camp is held each summer in
northern California, and attracts the very best drummers, dancers,
and teachers in North America. Abdoulaye's events and recordings
in the U. S. go by the name Tambacounda Productions.

International Art and Sound has provided Rhythms of the
C with the majority of our hand percussion instruments. Having
purchased hundreds of instruments from IAS, we have found their
products to be durable, beautiful, and very reasonably priced.
Excellent selection, great service. Contact the Shakerman,
and he'll take care of you. www.shakerman.com
Remo is the world's largest drum manufacturer, although
that is not why we recommend their products. Remo drums are
less environmentally impactful than drums made from traditional
materials because they make the majority of their drum shells
out of post consumer, recycled cardboard. We think that's awesome.
They offer an incredible array of percussive instruments, most
of which are durable, affordable, and attractive. Global distribution
and catalogue available via: www.remo.com
Boom Whackers are one of Rhythms of the C's most frequently
used instruments. They are inexpensive, durable, colorful, lightweight,
and have a delightful sound. Highly recommended for anyone who
facilitates large groups, and especially for kids' activities.

Rootsy Records is run by Jeremy Chevrier, who is a talented
drummer and genuine supporter of West African music and culture.
We recommend buying music from him because the artists will
benefit. Please do not copy CDs - support the artists. Rootsy
Records carries all of Abdoulaye Diakite's recordings, and many
other incredible players. www.rootsyrecords.com

and appreciation because they voluntarily host the annual Seattle
World Rhythm Festival. www.swps.org
Seattle World Rhythm Festival is the single greatest
drum event on earth. Three days of world class performances,
classes, clinics and demonstrations, which are FREE to the public,
thanks to the work of SWPS. The event is held at the Seattle
Center, in spring, and draws more than ten thousand participants
each year. Plan to attend. Last year's list of events and other
information available at: www.swps.org

It would be difficult to exaggerate my appreciation for the amazing
artistic skills of Ben Ciccati. Sketches, paintings,
graphics, logos, political cartoons, sculpture . . . popcorn
. . . everything Ben makes is of the utmost quality. Ben created
the cartoon image I use on my business cards and on the CD cover,
and he also drew all of the illustrations for the diagrams which
accompany the CD. Examples from his portfolio and contact information
are online at: www.beelinesdesign.com.

Groove House Records is the company that manufactured
our CDs. They came well recommended by an associate, and we
found the quality of the product to be incredible. Sound quality
is fantastic, graphics came out sharp and colorful, and best
of all, they offer a variety of environmentally friendly materials,
which is how we were able to make our CD with 100% recycled
cardboard, soy based ink, and non-toxic plastic wrap. Visit:

Dear Reader,
There are thousands of other players, products, teachers, facilitators
and networks which support hand drumming and community drum
circles. The list above represents some of our favorites. Any
friends and/or associates who would like to be added to this
list are welcome to contact our office.
The following links are businesses and individuals we believe
in, regardless of the fact that they do not manufacture percussion
related goods or services. Remember, every dollar we spend is
a vote. Please vote carefully.

Patagonia makes some of the world's best clothing and
outdoor equipment, and although they do not make percussion
instruments (yet...), we want to endorse their efforts to correct
the environmental crisis, and to establish sustainable growth
models for businesses and communities. Please consider joining
their "One Percent Foundation." Please also check out their
new insulate, Synchilla, which is made from recycled plastic
bottles collected from developing countries. You stay warm and
help the planet at the same time! www.patagonia.com
The World Scholar Athlete Games promote global cooperation through gatherings in
which participants play team sports and showcase their artistic skills. There are Games
in the USA and in many other countries. It was an honor to facilitate rhythm events at
the 2006 World Games gathering in Rhode Island, and to be part of such an incredible
experience. The attendees were teenage men and women from 157 different countries, but
within the first two days, they melded into one big, happy, athletic family. The week
was composed of numerous sports events - in which each team is composed of players from
several different countries - as well as the practicing and showcasing of theater,
photography, choral music, and other artistic disciplines. There were also many guest
lecturers, including a senator, a famous athlete, fellow scholar-athletes from other
countries, professional motivational speakers, and the talented WSAG faculty. If you are,
or know, a teenager who might be interested, p-l-e-a-s-e check it out. It was surprisingly
affordable, and no, you do not need to be a gifted athlete to attend. The harmonious
cooperation of those young adults was probably the greatest thing I have ever witnessed
with my own two eyes.
