"On behalf of all the instructors
and instructional designers of PeopleSoft University,
I would like to thank you for the team building Drum Circle
you facilitated at our Education Conference in Pleasanton,
CA. It was a huge success. For many, it was the highlight
of their conference experiences. I would like to share
with you some of the feedback that we received from the
attendees of your Drum Circle:
- Unexpected, but effective team building event.
It seemed everyone participated in the event in the
spirit in which it was given. I was surprised at how
quickly we were all able to work together.
I enjoyed it.
- This was probably the high point of the conference
for me... it was GREAT!!!
- Awesome! ...Just when things seem predictable out
comes an opportunity to be truly interactive
with the group. Considering myself non-musical I still
felt an integral part of the rhythms of PS University!
- This was such an awesome team building. Fun
and interactive! A real blast!
This positive feedback should not be taken lightly.
The group you facilitated includes experienced instructors
and facilitators of corporate training events for PeopleSoft.
They are a tough audience, but your Drum Circle reached
them in a way no other team building event could have.
Your facilitation techniques, combined with the rhythms
and metaphors that you applied to our organization made
a difference for our organization, both at the conference
and in the future. We all now have the common bond of
the drum experience to use in our professional as well
as personal lives.
Again, thank you Cameron for sharing your spirit with
our community."

Collegiate Events
We provide the very best rhythm circles for the colleges and
universities of North America. We do this by providing the highest
quality musical equipment from around the world, a uniquely
qualified facilitator, and curriculum based upon experience
and expertise. Whether you want a dynamic message or pure entertainment,
Cameron Tummel's programs will transform, energize and motivate
you and your group.
Collegiate Events Give Your Participants Memorable Experiences
In:
- Teambuilding
- Leadership
- Appreciation of Diversity
- Involvement in Community
- Celebration
Participants begin by playing small percussion for an icebreaker/warm-up
activity, then add hand and stick drums to the ensemble as they
continue through the process. Initially our facilitator will
give plenty of instruction for them to succeed, but by the finale,
they are free to improvise and create their own music.
All instruments provided. Absolutely no previous experience
necessary - everyone plays.
We excel at designing unique events for our clients. Whatever
your desired outcomes are, we input your message during the
presentation. Just describe the results you want, and we'll
design a special event for your community's success.
Rhythmic Options: Community Drum Circles include
bells, blocks, shakers, stick drums and hand drums for everyone
to join in. High energy; maximum impact. Standard event time
for a university is 75 - 90 minutes, which includes processing.
Other options include Boom Whackers (percussion tubes) and/or
body percussion and/or vocal percussion, as a warm up for the
drum circle. In addition to the drumming and motivational messages,
do not be surprised if your entire assembly gets up to dance
while they play!
Boom Whackers are colorful, plastic percussion tubes
which are simple to use, lightweight to transport, and have
a delightful sound. If your budget or schedule requires an effective,
quick, enjoyable way to connect your campus community, a 30
minute rhythm event played with Boom Whackers is the best option.
Crowd Energizers are a concise, impactful way to revive
your group during an arduous day of seminars or lectures. Using
lightweight instruments and/or body percussion, a 15 - 30 minute
activity is a refreshing way to get your group moving (and thinking)
again. Suggest scheduling mid afternoon, or just prior to the
keynote address.

"It was an experience that reinforced
much of what the [NCAA] Leadership Conference tries to
teach: respect for the contribution and diversity of others;
ways to effectively change the direction of the group
without hitting a sour note; how to influence others to
help create change; and how to recognize the importance
of everyone's contribution, even the quiet bells."

School Events
Rhythms of the C has provided interactive rhythm circles for
kids in schools all across California, numerous other states,
and also in several European countries, for the last fifteen
years. Extensive references available upon request.
School visits are one or two days, while residencies may last
two or three weeks. Each campus visit is catered to its particular
request.
Typical school day usually includes four rhythm circles, each
an hour long, with twenty to fifty participants per circle.
Your campus needs to provide a chair for each participant, and
a large room with a high tolerance for volume. Rhythms of the
C provides all of the instruments.

"Cameron
Tummel is completing his fourth year as an artist in residence
at Ellwood School. His funding has been a combination
of the Goleta Education Foundation school grants and the
Ellwood PTA. His program, entitled "Rhythms of the C,"
allows every student in grades K-6 to experience rhythm
instruments from many different countries. Each year he
runs an after-school group, Youth Performance Ensemble
(YPE), of 5th and 6th graders. These students work with
him for a total of nine hours and create musical pieces
to be shared in a school assembly. Last year the YPE performed
for Brandon and El Camino Schools and this year performed
at Hollister School. Each Ellwood student has been given
the gift of learning, creating, and enjoying making music
with their peers and teachers. Cameron's teaching transcends
musical knowledge into an understanding of the harmony
and strength of diversity of people. His ability to generate
strong student focus, collaboration, and unity of the
human spirit is commendable."
