Announcing the Second Season of the
SB Hot Shots
Youth Percussion Ensemble

Wanna be in a hot performance group?

Cameron Tummel’s been teaching hand drumming in SB for the last eighteen years,
and now he’s putting together a performance group of the very best young players
from all the different schools:
Anyone between 10 - 15 years old is welcome to audition.
Thirteen players (possibly more) will be selected for the ensemble.
Six weeks of rehearsals, beginning April 8th, concluding May 20th.
Rehearsals on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, 4:00 - 5:30 PM.
Performance and Community Drum Circle Sunday, May 18th.
Auditions Tuesday, April 8th, at 4 PM.
Auditions and rehearsals will be at the Cesar Chavez Charter School
(Located between the Eastside Library and Franklin School.)
All instruments provided.
There is NO CHARGE to be in the group, thanks to sponsorship from

You must register for the audition
in advance, and be on time for your appointment.
If selected to be in the ensemble:
You must be able to attend ALL rehearsals and the performance/s.
You must get yourself to rehearsal, on time, every single time.
You will need performance attire - we’ll all decide colors, prints, etc, together.
You will probably want to record rehearsals in order to practice at home, so you
may want to bring an audio recorder with you.

First Season:
Auditions Jan. 15th at 4 PM.
Rehearsals on Tues. and Thurs., for six weeks: Jan. 15th through Feb. 26th.
Performance at Downtown SB Farmer’s Market Feb. 26th.
Second Season:
Auditions Tuesday, April 8th at 4 PM
Rehearsals on Tues. & Thurs, for six weeks: Apr. 8th May 20th.
Performance and Community Drum Circle on May 18, location TBA.
Performances for Franklin School and Cesar Chavez Charter School May 20th.

Third Season:
Auditions August 19th at 4 PM
Rehearsals Tues. & Thurs. for six weeks: Aug. 19th Sept. 23rd.

Closest corner for drop-off and pick-up is between the Eastside Public Library and
Franklin School, at the corner of Yanonali and Voluntario Streets.
